The Sir Roger Tichborne
The Sir Roger Tichborne is an attractive timber-framed country pub, part of which dates back to the late medieval period. It is situated in Alfold Bars between Billingshurst and Cranleigh, near the A281 Horsham to Guildford Rd. The new owners have lovingly restored and refurbished the pub around the values of traditional pub hospitality and a warm rustic atmosphere. Walk in and you will be welcomed by logs crackling in the hearth, a friendly well stocked bar with an extensive range of wines and beers on tap. The stunning new dining room offers home-made food, using locally sourced produce as much as possible, and has an impressive patio area where you can relax with lunch or simply a chilled beer, or step inside and dine in style enjoying countryside views. The Woolpack
The Woolpack is situated in Burgess Hill and was originally a farm, dating from 1621. It has, with old beams and large fireplace, retained all of its historic charm. A large barn extension was added in 1983 when it was converted into a pub. There is a restaurant area and large open bar with alcoves, nooks and crannies to enjoy intimate conversation. Good local food is freshly prepared and served in a family friendly atmosphere. In the summer, relax in the large garden with a jug of Pimms and simply enjoy the sunshine or dine al fresco. We have six real ales to choose from, draught lager and bottled beers, an inexpensive wine list and a menu that also provides smaller portions for the smaller appetite. A choice of roasts are always available on Sundays. We hope to see you soon and give you a Woolpack welcome.
